Jewel V. Habbe

	Jewel V. Habbe, age 87, of Pinckneyville, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2000 at 7:30 p.m. in the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
	Jewel was born in Pinckneyville on September 1, 1912, the daughter of Calvin and Edith (Keene) Gruner.  She married Emerald Martin Ullman in 1926 and he preceded her in death in August 1941.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, a cook and waitress, having worked for 12 1/2 years at Rosies Cafe, currently known as Kittens Cafe, Pinckneyville.  She was an artist, won several blue ribbons for her watercolor paintings displayed at the Perry County Fair and was interviewed in 1984 by Mike Shane of KFVS Channel 12 in their Senior Spotlight feature.
	She is survived by her six children:  Gladys Murry and her husband, Otis, of Union Grove, AL, Emerald Ullman, and his wife, Peggy, of Hillsboro, IL, Patricia Smith, and her husband, Carl, of Port Clinton, OH, David Ullman, and his wife Jeannie, of DuQuoin, IL, Wanda White, and her husband, Denver, of Union Grove, AL, and Carolyn Thompson of DuQuoin, a brother:  Dean Gruner and his Wife, Sally, of Murphysboro, IL, a sister:  Pearl Holder of Pinckneyville; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother:  Eugene Gruner and a sister:  Opal Livingston.
	Funeral services were held on Friday, September 1, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. in the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL, with Bro. Ted Clark officiating.  Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
	Friends were able to call at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until services.
	Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery.
